Acrobat -- Combine Files based on their Name or Content

Using a batch sequence this script can scan an entire folder (including all sub-folders) and merge the files from it based on either their name or text (or any other criterion defined by the user) into new files. At the end a detailed report will be created.

I need a script to do a batch process just about like the one described above.

I have a folder with ~1500 single pdf's that need to be combined according to their prefix and then be saved as a single combined pdf file for each group.

example:
The folder contains files named as follows:
B0001-01-11x17.pdf
B0001-02-11x17.pdf
B0001-03-11x17.pdf

B0002-01-11x17.pdf
B0002-02-11x17.pdf
B0002-03-11x17.pdf
etc...

I would like script to batch combine the B0001's and save it as a single .pdf, named with only its prefix (B0001). and then continue to do the same to all of the B0002's & B0003's etc.

Is there a script that can do this?

Hi shiblomsalad,

I can adjust this script to do that.
Please email me at try6767@gmail.com to discuss it further.

Regards, try.
