Acrobat -- Search & Replace Text in Form Fields

Direct purchase using PayPal ($25 only)!

Similar to my Search & Replace Text in Bookmarks script, you can use this new script to search and replace the text in all the text fields in a single file, and if you have Acrobat Pro you can run this as an Action (AKA Batch Sequence) on multiple files, all for the low price of just $25!

Special offer: You can now get all three "Search & Replace Text" fields (for bookmarks, form fields and comments) for just $60, instead of $75! They can be purchased as a pack here.

IMPORTANT: This tool does not edit the actual static text of a PDF file, only text that is a part of a form field!

Using this script is very easy. You just enter the search term and the replace term:

And all of the matching text in your text fields is edited.

Before:

After:

On top of that, you can even use some basic Regular Expression commands, like \d for a digit, \s for white-spaces, $ as the beginning of the string and ^ for the end of it, etc.

If you have any questions regarding this tool, you can contact me directly.

Is the purchase a license for one machine or a JavaScript file that could be used on multiple machines?

Gilad D. (try67) said...

@Marc

The license is for one machine. You can purchase multiple licenses directly, or contact me privately to discuss it.

Thanks Giliad! I purchased this morning. I do have a couple of other questions:

1. In Acrobat DC, a "Add-on Tools" pop-up appears with the script. Is there any way to stop that pop-up from appearing? It's additionally in the Add-on Tools in the tools tab, which I've already dragged to favorites.

2. Is there a solution for this in Reader DC or is this an Acrobat only solution?

I'm wanting to buy this script if it works. Can you confirm that it will work with adobe acrobat

Gilad D. (try67) said...

Yes, it will work, as described.

Awesome - I will buy it today. Do you have a script that will prevent people from removing the password on locked pdf files

No, sorry.

I use Acrobat Pro DC
I want to change text in multiple text boxes in drawings like this:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/q4p1egku2v7qj94/Screenshot%202018-06-08%2011.31.55.png?dl=0

Can this tool do it?
Any trial or moneyback option if it does not work?

It's hard to say from the screenshot whether or not these are form fields or just static text. This tol will only in the former. If you send me the actual file I could give you a definite answer before you buy it.

(Sorry about the delay in replying. The comment was stuck in a hidden moderation queue.)

Does this work for multiple words or text sequences? For example, we keep some pricing information on our customer database forms and I'm hoping this can be a way to make updating easier.
Right now we have things listed with the SKU followed by the price (ABC $1.00) Could I change all ABC $1.00 to ABC $2.00?

Also, would this have to be purchased for each user? We have multiple users in our business account that would need to be able to perform this same search and replace function.

Gilad D. (try67) said...

It can be adjusted to use Regular Expressions, yes.

And yes, you would need a license for each user. Contact me privately to discuss the pricing, please.

Hi,

I want to do something similar - the difference being I want to find and replace text in the field names of the PDF form. Is that possible?

@R'gated

See these other tools I've developed for that purpose:
